Computer Numerical control of machines refers to the automation of machine tools that are operated using programmed command enabled in a storage medium. The initial machine were built based on existing tools that are where modified with motors that moves with controls to follow points feed into the system in points tails, magnetic tapes, catriaages etc. The machines were basically servo-machinism and have been improved over the years. An analogue and digital computer, this has resulted in modern numerical control (CNC) machine tools.
A modern CNC system end to end component design is highly automated using computer aided design (CAD) computer aided manufacturing, CAM programs. The program provides computer files that is interpreted to extract the command need to operate a particular machine through a post processor and then loaded into the CNC nachine for production.Since any particular component input require the use of different tools, drils, modern machine often combine multiple tools intoa single cell. In order case, the number of different machine are used with external controller or human or robotic operation that moves the component from one machine to the another machine in other case the complex series of steps to produce any part.
