TO HAVE THE FRUITS
Everybody no doubt wants to enjoy the best things of life. But is it everybody that is willing to pay the price? If you want to build a house you will agree with me that one must first of all have a piece of land. To be financial independent, we are advised that one of the ways is to invest in the stock market, you must have money because no company will wake up one morning and distribute it’s shares to the public at all cost .
To enjoy mango the farmer must plant mango tree and nurture it to grow, from which the fruits will be enjoyed later. Here is a story of a farmer who was sitting in front steps during a planting season. A stranger stopped at the farmers’ house to ask for a drink of water;
Stranger: “how is the wheat coming along?”
Farmer: “didn’t plant any”
Stranger: “really?” “I taught this was good wheat country”
Farmer: “I was afraid it won’t rain.”
Stranger: ”oh, well, how is the corn crop?”
Farmer: “aren’t got any.”
Stranger; “u dint plant any corn either?”
Farmer: “nope, afraid of corn blight.”
Stranger: “for heaven sake! What did u plant?
Farmer: “nothing!” I just played it safe.
Will the farmer enjoy any fruits or crop from the farm during the harvest time? Of course, no!
You will agree with me that there is noting like expecting something from nothing. To enjoy the fruits tomorrow, you must plant today. And one of the ways to make it happen is developing the passion and zeal for more knowledge and information. At ninety-two years of age justice Oliver Wendell Holmes was ill and in the hospital, his friend President Roosevelt came to visit him. When Roosevelt entered, he saw justice Holmes reading a Greek Primer;
“What are you doing Mr. Justice?” asked the president.
“Reading” answered Holmes.
“I can see that”, said the president, “but why Greek Primer
Holmes answered, “Why Mr. President, to improve my mind.
Dear readers, the key is in your hands. Use it!
